Year 5 went back in time to the year 700 BC to be Ancient Greeks for the day. We had a fantastic day, with lots of fun and new learning.
The day started out listening to stories about the beginning of the Ancient Greeks and some of their Gods and Goddesses, followed by a quiz (where we hunted for the answers), and playing some Ancient Greek board games. We showed our amazing teamwork and problem-solving skills.
In the afternoon, we looked at Ancient Greek weaponry and warfare which included a re-enactment of the Battle of Marathon.
The day ended with our own mini Olympic Games, where we managed to make Zeus (the all great and powerful) very happy.
