At Royston St John Baptist CE Primary School, we love computing because it is hands on. It can breed resilience. It develops problems solving skills and it opens a student’s eyes to a digital world. Computing is rich in complex knowledge, which can make it interesting for pupils to learn. We also believe that computing helps to prepare the children for life in the 21st century, encouraging them to develop a greater understanding of the technological world around them. It also has deep links with mathematics, science, and design technology, while providing a deep inside into both natural and artificial systems. The possibilities where computing can lead us are endless and that is exciting.
‘A computer is like a violin. You can imagine it making beautiful music, but you have to learn how to play it.’
