Introduction
At Royston St John Baptist CE Primary, we love music because it inspires creativity, builds confidence, and allows every child to express themselves in ways that words alone cannot. Music is not just about orchestras, famous composers, or perfect performances – it’s about participation, exploration, and joyful experiences for everyone. Through music, children learn to listen closely, work collaboratively, and appreciate the rich diversity of cultures and styles in our world.
Music helps us understand how sound, rhythm, and harmony shape our emotions and our environment, and it opens our eyes to the beauty and meaning found in everyday life. As pupils develop their musical understanding, they discover a growing world of possibilities – from creating their own compositions to performing with others and developing a lifelong love of the arts.
